Enco Systems is the exclusive North American distributor of the Philips CD Pro 2 compact disc player. Enco was founded in 1987 specifically to design-in and distribute audio subassemblies manufactured by NV Philips, the Dutch electronics giant and inventor of the compact disc. For 20 years Enco has been a key partner with manufacturers in the specialty audio market – particularly jukebox and hi-fi.
Enco and Philips were instrumental in bringing compact disc to jukeboxes in the late 1980's. Enco partnered with Rowe International to design Philips CD technology into the first generation of CD jukeboxes. With Enco’s guidance, Philips designed an elegant CD module for jukeboxes and all the major jukebox manufacturers in the world chose to design around Philips CD technology. Since then, Enco has worked with every jukebox manufacturer in North America and maintains intimate knowledge of the structure of the jukebox market.
More than 20 years later Enco continues to supply the CD Pro 2 to jukebox manufacturers and to distributors of replacement parts. Most recently, Enco has teamed with Joel Friedman, known around the world as “Mr. Jukebox,” to support the transition of compact disc technology into its legacy service phase. We serve the jukebox and specialty audio markets with only factory-new players fresh from Philips's European production plant.

I am proud of my association with Enco Systems and its commitment to support compact disc jukeboxes. Operators know that CD jukes are still a solid profit center for many types of locations. As the manufacturing community increasingly moves toward new technology, Enco believes as I do that it is crucial to maintain supply of factory new replacement CD players. While technology will continue to redefine the jukebox business, CD jukes will remain viable for many more years. I believe that operators need to actively maintain close personal contact with their locations and CD plays a significant role in that effort. As long as the recording industry supports the CD format, it's still a valuable alternative for route operators. And I’ll continue to partner with Enco to support operators.
